I have been following Shenseea for quite some time, and one of the greatest strengths of her music has always been her tone. She has a distinctive sound that works beautifully across dancehall, pop, R&B and Afrobeats-influenced music.

The Jamaican artist is beautiful and has an incredible sense of style, but her A1 personality may be her biggest asset. Shenseea comes across as warm, inviting and relatable. Even with her international success, she still appears approachable, and that natural connection with people helps make her a special artist.

Her new song and video, “BRUCKSWEAT,” gives listeners another side of her talent. Released in July 2026 and produced by Supa Dups, the record is an uptempo dancehall track created to make people move.

Being from America, I did not immediately understand what “bruck sweat” meant. In the context of the song, it describes dancing, moving your body and working up a sweat. Once you understand that, the title perfectly captures the energy of the record.

The video is sensual like many of Shenseea’s other visuals, but it is also colorful, energetic and very creative. One of my favorite moments is when she is positioned on the fence near the beach. The tropical scenery, choreography and confident performance complement the song’s Caribbean energy.

Some listeners outside dancehall may overlook how versatile Shenseea really is because they are unfamiliar with the genre. However, she has shown an ability to blend her Jamaican roots with international sounds while maintaining her own voice, personality and style.

“BRUCKSWEAT” feels made for summer parties, clubs, beach events, cookouts and any environment where people want to dance and have a good time. It is another fun and confident release from an artist who continues to bring Jamaican music to a global audience.
